This book addresses a persistent gap in the professional literature available to English Language Teaching ELT practitioners in Indonesia and the broader Asian Pacific region a comprehensive theoretically grounded and practically oriented reference for the development evaluation and adaptation of instructional media and materials While a growing international literature addresses ELT materials development most notably the foundational volumes edited by Tomlinson 1998 2011 2013 and the curriculum development texts of Richards 2001 and Nation and Macalister 2010 these works are not always readily accessible to Indonesian practitioners and do not systematically address the specific contextual conditions institutional realities and learner populations of Indonesian ELT
